How I help
I have several areas in my life where I help businesses and individuals grow.
(yes, I know it is a silly metric…)
Silly metric or not, it shows you I have been around the proverbial block. I have completed over 160 web development projects over the last 23 years, for clients big and small. I started with a small content management project for a family member in 2000.
As a former member of Toastmasters Southern Africa, I have qualified as a Competent Speaker and Competent Leader, and was busy with my Advanced Communicator Bronze certification before COVID interrupted the process. To be continued!
I have completed many consultations on personal and business level, from productivity, conflict management, project planning, anti-bullying engagements and animal welfare workshops. I have done many of these consultations pro-bono, especially for the voice-less.
about me
I am a husband and father foremost, valuing my family at the highest regard. There is nothing I will not do for them. Secondly, I am a web developer with over 20 years of experience. I am an anti-bullying enthusiast and public speaker, and owner of Impero Consulting, my web development firm that I have been operating since 2012 and Don’t Be That Guy, which I started in 2021, several years after my eldest son was a victim of bullying.
Jiu-Jitsu
My sons and I are members of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Fourways, and take bullying very seriously, preparing us to protect ourselves and those who cannot protect themselves against bullying in all forms. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not about punching and kicking. It’s about de-escalating, but failing that, getting your opponent to submit or surrender.

I started Don’t Be That Guy as a free resource to victims and perpetrators of bullying.
Web Developer, Consultant, Public Speaker and Family Man Kobus Myburgh has been working in the technology industry since 1995. He has helped many clients build out their web presence as well as streamlining their businesses by means of technology consultation as well as development of intranet, workflow, election and administration platforms.
But somehow, this was not enough. I needed more. As a former member of Toastmasters Southern Africa, I have learned and practiced the skills of becoming a public speaker, and I use these skills when possible to advocate against anti-bullying and defending the voiceless. Some of the aspects that I am extremely passionate about is bullying in schools, gender based violence, and animal welfare.
